  1.         TRANSFERRING FILES FROM LOTUS 1-2-3 TO dBASE III

  3. Starting in Lotus 1-2-3
  4.  
  5.      1) Access the file you wish to transfer;
  6.      2) Note column-widths (you will need this information to set 
  7.         up your file structure in dBASE);
  8.      3) / PRINT FILE (access and open file for storage);
  9.      4) Enter (filename). This will automatically be assigned a 
  10.         .PRN extension;
  11.      5) RANGE (select appropriate range to be transferred);
  12.      6) OPTIONS MARGIN (set left margin to 0);
  13.      7) OPTIONS MARGIN (set right margin to 240);
  14.      8) OPTIONS OTHER (set to unformatted);
  15.      9) GO (writes file to disk in a printable form);
  16.      10) QUIT;
  17.      11) EXIT LOTUS 1-2-3;

  19. ENTER dBASE III
  20.  
  21.      1) CREATE (filename) (should be a different name from filename 
  22.         name you are transferring into dBASE;
  23.      2) Build your structure according to the column-widths you 
  24.         have previously recorded;
  25.      3) CRTL END (saves structure);
  26.      4) system will query "add records now? Y/N"    "N";
  27.      5) APPEND FROM (filename, saved from LOTUS) .PRN SDF;
